Reported missing journalism student found in perfect conditions

According to Sanchez’s family, their last contact with her was around 10 a.m. The young woman called her mom to notify her that she had met the public official at Plaza Cayzedo (Cali’s main square) and that she would conduct the interview in his office.

After the first contact, Sánchez’s family intended to call her several times but her cell phone seems turned off. The Sánchez family says it offer a reward for any information.

Public officials of the Secretariat of Culture ensure not to have seen her in their premises, neither knowing about a meeting between any of them and Sánchez.

The FLIP calls the Attorney General of the Nation and the National Police to launch search procedures, investigate promptly and trace Alejandra Sánchez.

Actualization

In the morning of Thursday 28th of April, thanks to declarations of the National Police, the FLIP knew that the journalist Alejandra Sánchez appeared in a hotel of Guatapé, in the department of Antioquia. According to the official versions, she went in this place by her own means and willingness.

The FLIP calls journalists to be conscious of the importance of always reporting their location and the conditions in which they find themselves when they are working. The lack of information in this type of case involves the investment of time and resources on the part of national authorities and non-governmental organizations, that could be used for the protection that are imminently at risk.
