FLIP demands the release of the journalists kidnapped in Catatumbo

The official stated that the security and the freedom of the reporters are under the responsibility of that guerrilla. Flip demands to ELN the immediate release of the journalists and the guarantee of their survival and integrity. To this end, we call for full respect for international humanitarian law which stipulates that journalists are civilians no longer taking part in the hostilities, and for which any aggression against them constitutes a serious violation.

The Foundation calls on the national government, in its duty of principal guarantor of the civil liberties, to keep open all the necessary humanitarian operations to reach the liberation without much risk for the journalists.
